VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

As a community owned AND operated swim club, Eaman Park Pool relies on it’s members to contribute to the care of the pool. We have been very fortunate to have so many proactive members willing to donate their time and talent to our pool. So, what does volunteering at Eaman look like? For long time member Elizabeth Edwards it means lending her green thumb and helping to make our pool beautiful and inviting.

If you have ever met Liz, you know that she is the kind of generous and loving spirit that immediately helps you feel at ease. Her love, her joy and appreciation of life is truly contagious. In addition to playing in the pool with her family, Liz has an amazing green thumb that we are all so envious of!

Years back when Liz noticed our empty planters and flower beds, she quickly sprung into action. Liz went home, looked around her own yard and got busy determining which plants would survive here at the pool. She began digging up and separating plants and the next thing we knew, our pool was filled with beautiful greenery. Since then, Liz has taken it upon herself, year after year, to tend to our plants and fill our planters. For her, it doesn’t even count as volunteer work, but for us, she is truly a treasure.

In fact, when Liz was nominated for our very first volunteer spotlight, we immediately had many people come forward to tell us about their love for Liz. Renowned Singer/Songwriter Ashley Farmer told us, ““Liz Edwards is one of the most genuine, loving, and creative women in our community. She’s a plethora of unique and inspiring ideas for making any space beautiful, and her work goes beyond what is necessary to what is inventive as well as sustainable. She has a style all her own, one that fosters comfortability and encouragement in everyone around her. You’ll rarely hear her turn down an opportunity to give back to her fellow citizens, and if there’s a job to be done, she’s usually the first to volunteer. What a gift she is to us all!”

And honestly, we could not agree more! If you see Liz at our pool, please say hello and let her know how much we all appreciate her efforts.
