They came, they saw, they swam their hearts out!

Swimmin’ for Eaman

Love and commitment were an overwhelming theme today at Eaman Park Pool. As the July sun began to warm the day, volunteers at EPP worked together to a create a fun and joyous event like never before. Thirteen of Eaman’s finest swimmers lined up to swim their hearts out for the community pool that they all love so dearly. Swimmers ranged in age from 4 to 18 but it is safe to say that every single participant went over and beyond what anyone expected. Between all 13 swimmers, we totaled 721 laps, that’s over 11 miles!

Addison Griffith, 68 laps!

After the hour was up, swimmers enjoyed delicious homemade treats supplied by Eaman Park Pool board members and volunteers. And, we were especially thrilled to be able to send EVERY SINGLE swimmer home with a prize. Eaman Park Pool would like to extend our gratitude to Chik-fil-A, The Pedal Factory, Scentsy by Jennifer Warren, Go Burrito, and the family of Zeplin and Killian Wingler for donating prizes. We would also like to extend a thank you to all of our sponsors and donors who were so incredibly generous and who continue to support Eaman Park Pool and our families.

Lastly, we would like to thank all the parents, families and community leaders who attended, cheered, volunteered and donated towards today’s event. Echos of laughter, cheers and excitement are exactly what Eaman Park Pool was created for. They are the sounds that fill our hearts and remind us of the beautiful community that we have built here. Because of you, we have made incredible strides towards the resurfacing of our pool and we feel confident that EPP will be around to serve your children and your children’s children for years and years to come.

Today’s Swimmin for Eaman Swim-a-thon raised a total of $2,104.80 in donations and we are anticipating more in per/lap pledges and Paypal donations. We are humbled and ecstatic. It takes a village and we are incredibly fortunate to support and be a part of such a loving and driven community. We will update you again once all the numbers are finalized. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU and as always, Happy Swimming!

Mid-Summer Updates from EPP

Can you believe that it’s almost July?! The summer seems to be just flying by and it feels so great to see all our kiddos back at the pool. The End of School Celebration had a great turnout. Special thanks to the members who heard our need and stepped up to help serve hotdogs, serve ice cream, to decorate and to clean up the aftermath. It definitely takes a village to make these events happen and we are so incredibly thankful to every single member that lends a hand. Speaking of lending a hand, we have several big events coming up in July and will need your help. Our next poolside cookout will be held on July 4th.

Please plan to celebrate Independence Day with us! Board members will be grilling up hot dogs and baked beans and are asking members to bring a dish to share. We will be celebrating all afternoon but are planning to eat around 5pm. Please follow this link to sign-up:

While we work very hard to make sure that many of our events are geared towards the kids and helping them to make wonderful summer memories, we do recognize that our parents enjoy our pool as well. Coming up on Friday, July 12th we will be welcoming our adult members to “Wine Down the Week” with us. Please plan to swing by from 5-9pm and meet some of our Board members. BYOB or W and an hors d’oeuvre to share. This is a time to just relax and enjoy one another’s company.

Coming Soon

Now, onto some more serious business. Coming up (Tentative Date: Saturday, July 27th), we will be hosting a massive fundraiser for the pool.

This will be a Swim-A-Thon event where interested participants will actively seek sponsorship/donations from family and friends. Sponsors will agree to donate a set amount per lap or may choose to donate a set amount up front. On the day of the event, swimmers will be designated a lane based on their age group and will have the opportunity to swim as many laps as they can muster. This is not a race. However, swimmers who raise the most funds in each age group will receive prizes. This is our biggest fundraiser attempt for 2019 and we need all members to make every effort to lend a hand. If you have, or are, a swimmer interested in helping us save our pool, please click HERE to sign up. We will also have a sign up sheet available at the Guard Shack. NONMEMBERS are welcome to participate! Additionally, if you are a member who cares about and enjoys our pool, we are seeking Committee members to assist on the day of the Swim-A-Thon. PLEASE, if you may be able to help in ANY capacity, we NEED you! To join the committee, please contact Board Member, Bailey Wingler at 336-978-3353 or via email at at your earliest convenience.

Thank you all for continuing to support our pool over the years. As we move forward we will be actively seeking out new, ACTIVE board members to help plan our 2020 pool season. To us, EPP isn’t just a pool, it is a place for our community to gather, to make memories, and to provide our children with a safe, healthy and family friendly environment to spend their summer months. Please help us to make sure that Eaman is around for many decades to come!

We NEED You!

As most of you know we are working hard this season to raise money to resurface our pool. One idea that has been submitted is a Swim-A-Thon, where interested swimmers would find sponsors to pledge a dollar amount per lap. Swimmers would meet at the pool on a specified date and would try to swim as many laps as they can during the allotted time frame. The details still need to be ironed out but we would like to gauge overall interested before proceeding. If you are a swimmer between the ages of 5 an 19, or have a swimmer interested in helping us to raise funds for our pool in a fun and exciting way, please have them go ahead and sign up at the link below. Again, this is just to gauge interest. We would sincerely appreciate your increased involvement as we move forward with the 2019 season,

As a community owned AND operated swim club, Eaman Park Pool relies on it’s members to contribute to the care of the pool. We have been very fortunate to have so many proactive members willing to donate their time and talent to our pool. So, what does volunteering at Eaman look like? For long time member Elizabeth Edwards it means lending her green thumb and helping to make our pool beautiful and inviting.

If you have ever met Liz, you know that she is the kind of generous and loving spirit that immediately helps you feel at ease. Her love, her joy and appreciation of life is truly contagious. In addition to playing in the pool with her family, Liz has an amazing green thumb that we are all so envious of!

Years back when Liz noticed our empty planters and flower beds, she quickly sprung into action. Liz went home, looked around her own yard and got busy determining which plants would survive here at the pool. She began digging up and separating plants and the next thing we knew, our pool was filled with beautiful greenery. Since then, Liz has taken it upon herself, year after year, to tend to our plants and fill our planters. For her, it doesn’t even count as volunteer work, but for us, she is truly a treasure.

In fact, when Liz was nominated for our very first volunteer spotlight, we immediately had many people come forward to tell us about their love for Liz. Renowned Singer/Songwriter Ashley Farmer told us, ““Liz Edwards is one of the most genuine, loving, and creative women in our community. She’s a plethora of unique and inspiring ideas for making any space beautiful, and her work goes beyond what is necessary to what is inventive as well as sustainable. She has a style all her own, one that fosters comfortability and encouragement in everyone around her. You’ll rarely hear her turn down an opportunity to give back to her fellow citizens, and if there’s a job to be done, she’s usually the first to volunteer. What a gift she is to us all!”

And honestly, we could not agree more! If you see Liz at our pool, please say hello and let her know how much we all appreciate her efforts.

If you would like nominate someone for our next Volunteer Spotlight OR if you would like information on how you can lend a hand here at our pool, please contact us on our Facebook page or reach out to our pool presidents, Tabitha and Michael Myers. The Myers’ can be reached via email at

Swim Lessons!

Excellent swimming skills create confident kids and here at Eaman Park Pool we love getting to watch as our swimmers’ skills improve year after year. For 2019 we are have three lifeguards offering swim lessons, Gabe McClendon, Emma Myers, and Brody Dillon. In general, lessons will be offered in the mornings prior to the lifeguards’ shifts. However, please do not hesitate to reach out to the guards if you would like to make other arrangements.

News from the Pool

WELCOME to the 2019 season here at beautiful, Eaman Park Pool! We have been absolutely thrilled to welcome our new and returning families to our little slice of paradise. We had an excellent turnout over Memorial Day weekend and are anxious to keep the momentum going now that school is officially out. Michael and Tabitha Myers have returned again this season and will continue to serve as co-presidents. Michael and Tabitha have dedicated countless hours to making our pool run over that last year and we are so very grateful to them!

As you know, we had to reschedule our annual Last Day of School celebration due to thunderstorms. The new date is Saturday, June 15th. We will begin grilling hotdogs at 4:30pm and we will have an ice cream sundae bar to follow. Members are encouraged to invite friends and neighbors to attend. The cost is $5 per child. All proceeds this year will go towards our Pool Resurfacing Fund. As many of you know, resurfacing the pool is our number one priority and has been for several seasons. As such, we are already working on some unique and FUN fundraising ideas. In the coming weeks we will be discussing some of these ideas and asking for your input both at the pool and on our Facebook page. It is our goal to make these events as FUN and carefree as possible.

In addition to fundraising events, we also plan to spotlight some of our volunteers. As a stock-owned, community operated pool, we are all responsible for this pool. We have been incredibly fortunate to have members of our EPP family volunteer in a million and one ways to support our pool. From helping out at our events, to cleaning, landscaping and helping stock the Snack Shack, it is our amazing volunteers that keep our pool running. If you would like to see how you can help out at the pool, OR if you would like to nominate a volunteer to be spotlighted, please send us a message on our Facebook Page or comment here.

As a reminder, EPP is open with FOB access from 6am-9pm daily. Lifeguards are only on duty from 12noon-5pm. The Snack Shack will be open during that time. Minors MUST be accompanied by a guardian outside of lifeguard hours. When leaving the pool, please remember to turn down the umbrellas and put away any toys you see lying around. Leaving toys in the pool is hard on the pool and we hate losing our expensive umbrellas to pop up storms. We sincerely appreciate your help with this.

We are really looking forward to an amazing pool season and are ready to make some fantastic memories. Stay tuned for more updates and as always, Happy Swimming!

UPDATE re: End of Year Party

Sorry everyone! We were really looking forward to celebrating the last day of school with all of you. Unfortunately, safety has to be our priority. We have decided to postpone out End of Year Celebration.

The new date is next Saturday, June 15th. We will be grilling hotdogs around 4:30pm and we will have an ice cream bar as originally planned. Congrats to all the students and graduates. We can’t wait to celebrate with you next weekend!

2019 End of School Celebration!

Our annual End of School Party will be next Friday, June 7th from 5pm-7pm. We will be grilling hotdogs for this event and we will have ice cream sundaes for the kids. There is a cost of $5 per child for this party to help the pool offset cost.

Feel free to bring your friends! NONmembers are more than welcome.

We still need volunteers to help with this. If we could have 2-3 more people to help with serving hotdogs and ice cream that would be great!

Please contact us if you are willing to help out. The kids look forward to this every year on the last day of school.
