School’s ALMOST Out for Summer!

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!  May is FINALLY here and that means we are one month closer to our annual End-of-School POOL PARTY!  This year we will be celebrating the hard work of all of our EPP parents and kiddos with an epic poolside bash.  Start packing up those pool bags and meet us at Eaman Park Pool on Friday, June 8th for pizza, games, icecream sundaes and tons of family fun!  All the festivities will take place between 4:30 and 7:00pm!  We are only asking for $5 per child to aid in food costs.  Could there be a better way to celebrate the end of another school year?  We don’t think so.  See you at the pool!

Help support OUR POOL by displaying an EPP yard sign!

Our brand new 2018 yard signs are here and we are SO THRILLED to see that some of our members are already displaying them proudly in and around Salisbury. It is our hope that these signs will bring more community awareness and help us to increase our membership. This is your chance to support OUR POOL! Are you ready to display your sign? Give our 2018 Pool President, Tabitha Myers a call at (704) 640-6234 to get yours today!

Opening Day, Memorial Day Cookout and Open House OH MY!

OK OK So I know it just snowed yesterday but it really is Springtime and you know that that means! Pool Season is right around the corner! Let’s kick off this 2018 season with a bang. Join us at Eaman Park Pool May 26th-May 28th and celebrate Memorial Day poolside. We plan on cooking out by the pool and we are already working on lots of fun activities for the kiddos. To top it all off we will be hosting an Open House. This is a unique opportunity for all of our members to invite friends, family and neighbors to check out “Our Pool!” So get out your bathing suits and flip flops and start countding down the days. We can’t wait to see all your smiling faces and to kick of another AWESOME season at Eaman Park Pool!

Congrats to all our young members who have succesfully completed their EOGs and another great year of school. To celebrate all your hardwork, we will be having our annual End of School party at the pool this Friday, June 9th beginning at 2pm. Pizza, Drinks and Treats will be provided and we will be playing all sort of games. The cost for this event in $5 per child. See you at the pool!

Opening Day 2017

THANK YOU to all our new and returning members. Opening Day was a huge success and thanks to you all, we were able to kick off the 2017 season with a bang!

Special shout out to all the members who so generously donated drinks and snacks for the Guard Shack.

These drinks and snack are available in the Guard Shack between 12 noon and 6pm for a modest price and all proceeds go back into the upkeep of the pool. All donations are sincerely appreciated! It is up to us as members to make “OUR POOL” the best it can be and we are off to a wonderful start.

One you have picked up and registered your FOB at the Guard Shack, you can access the pool anytime from 6am-9pm Monday-Friday. Don’t forget that next weekend on June 9th, we will have our End of School Party at the pool from 2pm-5pm. So, get changed and head straight to the pool for games, pizza and FUN! After all that hard work, the kiddos deserve to celebrate! Take Care and See you at OUR POOL!

It’s almost time!!

As we begin our countdown to Opening Day on May 27th, it is time to start planning our annual End of School Pool Party. This event is always a huge hit for all of our families and features exciting activities for all ages. We are determined to make this year’s End of School Bash the best one yet. Are you in?

We are looking for some fun and motivated pool members to help us with this year’s party. If you helped last year or want to help this year, please contact Jason May,

We are making BIG changes to our hours this season! For 2017, we will be open DAILY from 6am-9pm! This will allow our members to use the pool at their leisure. Enjoy swimming laps in the morning? Come on down! Have little ones that don’t like to swim with the bigger kids? Want to come down to the pool in the late morning before the heat of the day gets too much? Come on down! Don’t get off work till 5:30? Come on down and have dinner with the family at the pool. Our hope is that by changing the hours, we make the pool available to our members on their schedule as opposed to dictating when our members can use their pool!

But what about the lifeguards? – We will still have guards, but with small changes to their hours. Guards will be on the stand from noon to 6 pm every day. Concession stand will be open during these hours as well. Bathrooms will be open during all open hours. We will limit our older kids coming to the pool without their parents to the times when guards are on the stand,

No one under the age of 21 allowed at the pool without a parent or guardian outside of the hours of noon till 6 pm.

Extended Season – With the changes to hours, a new pump, and other behind the scenes changes, we will be extending our season. Every year we close on Labor Day weekend in the rain and cold, only to have a beautiful weather the first weekend we are closed. So, we plan on staying open till the middle of October this year, giving our members more bang for their buck.

We are so excited to kick off our 2017 season! See you at the pool!

WANT $50???

The weather is gorgeous and we can’t wait to open up the pool! This year we are so excited to offer our $50 volunteer credit.

Volunteering at one of our assigned pre-season cleaning days earns you a $50 credit towards your dues! How easy is that? Each of these days will have an assigned leader and a few chores to be completed. Remember, this is “OUR POOL” and we need everyone’s help to make 2017 our best season yet!

Scheduled volunteer dates are:

Saturday, May 6th
Saturday, May 13th
Saturday, May 20th

These dates are great opportunities to complete the volunteer hours and get your $50 credit. If you can volunteer for these days, please send your availability to

BIG Thanks, Lap Swim, Yard Sale!!

What a fun, busy week we’ve had.  Thank you to all of you that have come out and splashed with us.  BIG thanks to the board members who have stepped up and helped out wherever possible.  Completely unplanned, it seems that someone has been there to represent the pool during almost all of the open hours.  Thank you over and over!

An amazing moment last week was mid-day Friday when there was a large group of over 20 middle and high schoolers swimming (racing!) back and forth in the deep end, meanwhile over 15 elementary school aged kids and tots were painting fish where the kiddie pool used to be.  For one place to meet everyone’s needs is a community treasure!  So much fun for all!

Currently, we have had a great interest in the pool since opening the last weekend in May.  We have surpassed last year’s membership numbers!  EPP is the place to be!!  There has been a lot of chatter with the Board Members about how many people are enjoying the pool.  Overall, we know that historically members start going to camps and heading out on vacations starting this next week.  It should not be as busy as it was this past week.

Also, the Board is aware of the numbers of chairs vs. number of members.  Right now, new lounge chairs run $165 per chair.  We have debated on whether we should purchase more or hold off until the end of season.  With all of the new funds coming in from our memberships and parties, retiling and resurfacing is closer to reality than ever before.  The Board has decided to hold off on any purchasing in the hopes of fixing our sore pool feet next season.  Should you be interested in bringing your own chairs and leaving them in the bathrooms with your name on them for next time, you are welcome to do so.  (You may want to take them home the week of the Yard Sale!!)

A Few Things to Note:

A HUGE shout out to membership Kelly Fisher for her help on Saturday.  We appreciate you stepping in and supporting our pool community.  THANK YOU!!

Yard Sale:  Last year, we made over $800 and it was fun!  This year, members Beth Horman, Laura Zimmerman Clark, and Board Member Pamela McClendon are interested in spearheading another great yard sale opportunity.  We are looking at Saturday, July 23rd from 8am-Noon.  We will be collecting items in the boys bathroom starting that Wednesday, July 20th.  If you are interested in helping to sell items on Saturday morning, please let us know of Facebook or send us an email.  The more the merrier!!

Lap Swim:  Interested in swimming laps with a small group of members in the morning, before the pool opens?  Great!  Send a message to Beth Horman at  She will come up with a time that works for you all.

Don’t forget to leave your pool space the way you found it!  The guards spend a lot of time closing the pool in the evening with putting the umbrellas and hammocks away, washing the bathroom floors, organizing the chairs, and picking up toys and trash.  If we all make sure our things are picked up and put away, we will be helping the guards out a ton!

Swim Lessons:  Those interested in swim lessons and have put their name on our sheet, you should be hearing from our guards in the next day or so.  They will be organizing individuals and groups for morning lessons starting next week.

Pool Happenings:

Wednesday, June 15 (Tomorrow), we have at large group coming from Partners in Learning from Noon-3pm.  We just wanted you to be aware that it may be a bit crazy.  We have scheduled 3 guards during this time.

Wednesday, June 15th at 3:50pm (Pool Break) will be our weekly day/time for our Poolside Story and Craft with Diana Dandro!

Wednesday’s Book:  A House for Hermit Crab by Eric Carle

Theme:  Growing up and accepting change

Interested in a Guest Pass or 20 Day Pass?  First, you have to be a stockholder.  Second, come talk to someone at the guard shack.  Third, enjoy!

We are excited about a great pool season and hope you are too!

See you at the pool,

The Pool Crew

Summer Party, Story and Craft, Family Potluck!

What a great, fun weekend with so many new faces from our community!  We hope you and your friends had a great time.

The new memberships are rolling in and the official membership list will be printed off for our board members and guards this Wednesday, June 8th at noon.  So…if you need to pay, do it online or bring a check tomorrow!  We are getting serious about who’s paid and who comes in to swim!  Again, our website is!

Pool Happenings:

Wednesday, June 8th, we have our End of School Celebration.  We will be ordering pizza, serving ice cream with a topping bar, and offering some great activities for kiddos of all ages!  We are asking for a $5 donation per person to cover the cost of pizza.  Should anyone be interested in helping, we are looking for volunteers to serve and donate those amazing, quick filling water balloons.  Those save a ton of time!  See you around 3:30pm!

Friday, June 10th at 3:30pm is the first of our weekly Poolside Story and Craft with Diana Dandro!

Friday’s Book:  Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister

Theme:  Everyone has special gifts to share

Sunday, June 12th at 4pm:  Family Potluck!  Bring a dish to share and enjoy a swim with other members.  Hotdogs and condiments are in the fridge, while paper products are in the women’s locker room to share!  We are looking for a hotdog grill master…could that be you?! Share on Facebook if you plan to come.  See you there!
